Hello, my name is Daniel Lee Austhof, and I AM The Blessed One!
This may seem like a brazen claim to make, but I will shout it from the rooftops because I don't think that it's the truth- I KNOW it is!! In my book, "The Blessed One", I point out that each and every human is greatly Blessed- to the extent of our perception. Like each of us, I have been Cursed in some ways.... and Blessed in so many more!! I have found that if I dwell upon the negatives I wind up wallowing in my despair- and I can find a thousand lifetime's worth of it. But when I focus on the flashes of brilliance and focus on the joy, the love, the breath that I have been given..... if I focus on my Blessings in life, I have come to find infinitely more! I guess it's true: "Seek and you shall find." So this is the message that I intend to share- that, inherently, each of us IS, HAS BEEN, and ALWAYS WILL BE The Blessed One!
"The Blessed One"- my first book, "The Blessed One", is a short Memoir/ biography, which serves as almost a Parable.... perhaps more as my Resume wrapped inside a Life Lesson. My Resume on what gives me the credibility and the Right to make the claims which I make. I am fully aware that there are people in the World who have gone, and are going through equally or more difficult times than I have ever faced- I guess- maybe. But I truly believe that if we asked these "martyrs", and if we asked multimillionaire entrepreneurs if each of them truly feels Blessed, that the responses would be similar. See, I believe that all things are relative. It's all about Perception. It's about expectation. About the ability to feel like we have sufficiently ENOUGH, and yet be able to have the perspective, focused drive, and controlled ambition to strive for MORE! Trust me, it is one thing to be aware of the importance of such a mindset and very much another to pull it off. Like those aforementioned flashes of brilliance, I have only short stretches when I feel truly happy and at PEACE. Most of the time my life is a war, trying to reach the "Promised Land". Regardless of what happens (or doesn't) I will NEVER give up! After all this? How could I? What could possibly make me surrender? I have heard the weightlifters motto, "It never gets easier, you just get stronger." I will turn that on its' head and say "Life can't get harder- more- than my getting Stronger!!" And I believe that we will never face MORE than we can handle (and check my Resume). The strength that makes this possible comes from the supply of the Spirit within us and the magnificent (or at least sustaining) Blessings which are poured out upon us.
The purpose of "The Blessed One", and perhaps my entire life, is to redirect the Perception of the World to what we DO have rather than the scarcity. And most importantly to point out the source of these Blessings- namely my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! I hope to encourage everyone to Perceive Goodness and proceed to live the Life of THE BLESSED ONE!!!.
